When you see schooling fish with birds on them get up close and cast into the frey. Good fishing. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/U9FQ6rVFbCc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Most likely when you see sea gulls diving for shad is often from stripers feeding. I have seen this often on lake oconee during the winter months when the shad would get balled up. The stripers would push the shad up using the surface to corner them, therefore making them accessable to the seagulls.....often when this happens there will be catfish right below all of this action waiting on a fresh snack to fall down to them.....yes fishing diving birds can be awesome.....especially for striper fisherman.....but it works for cats too.

Yes Tony. most the time but there will be fish on the bottom such as catfish picking up the pieces.
