Getting Ready To Kick-Off The Season

I don't know about any of you, but I'm more than ready to get things started for the new fishing season. Maybe alot of you have already started yours. After a string of bad luck last year with working lots of hours with limited time on the water for the first time I can remember, and added boat problems etc. I am excited to start a new year with high expectations and a re-focused attitude towards this year.

I went outside this morning to take my daughter to school, and the feeling of spring hit me when I walked outside. I'm sure I am probably jumping the gun alittle bit. However, I think we can all understand the feeling we get when hitting the warm sun and moderate temperature after a long boring winter. I have many things left to do yet in preparation for this soon upcoming season. Reels to re-spool, terminal tackle to reorganize, and some simple boat upgrades are on the agenda. Along with the plan to add a few new outfits to the aresnal!

This season also brings back an old passion as I plan to start tournament fishing again. I haven't fished many tournaments the past few years. And have greatly missed the thrill and competition. Hopefully this season will be all that is planned. I'm sure there will be some ups and downs as that is part of the process. But look forward to spending time at it again as in the past in hopes of a productive year, and enjoying time on the water with others that enjoy catfishing as well. Im getting the fever too man! Been respooling reels, cleaned out my tackle bag and added a few more rods and reels to my arsenal! Looking forward to a great year with you and many others on the water this year!

Good luck in the tourneys Rollo. I plan to fish a few myself this year so we'll see how that goes. I also have a few new spots and ideas I want to try out.

The weather for this weekend is suppose to be in the low 40's. Have to work saturday. If there is no ice on the river i'm going to have to try for some channels on sunday. I need a cure for the cabin fever.

I'm sick of this weather! I'm ready for 50 degree water temps! I'm going to be the first Ohioan to put a shovelhead in the boat!
