I was curious if anyone uses fluorocarbon for leaders of mono. I feel it would have better abrasion resistance.

I been using braid. But on a recent trip with kip and the guys, They all used braid due to how it holds the hook. I myself will be switching to Mono. I don't feel the rigidity or lack of in braid keeps it effective. As for fluoro I couldn't tell ya, due to the fact I haven't tried it. Sorry.
Just wanted to say something since noone else has yet.

We have used flouro, mono n braid but this year we have gone to Dacron, seems to be very abrasion resistant and here in Az our lakes are rocky n this stuff seems to work well.

nothing but mono here dude. even when i did use braid i ran mono leaders

Mono... Seems to me the fish don't like the feel if the braid... Can have two rods beside each other same bait one braid one mono and my bites on the braid don't last as long... Channels seem to drop me often

I have used fluoro leaders on most my fishing and all my braid setups. Why I like fluoro is that it is abrasion resistance ,low stretch and good knot strength. I know less knots the better but when I fish braid I feel that the benefits of having the fluoro leader out way the extra knot ..witch with fluoro I have never had a knot fail me yet. And when setting the hook at long distance I prefer not to have the stretch of a mono leader. If you like to have the stretch then mono is a better option .
