yea i have caught hundreds if not thousands of channels over the years on kahles. there is absolutely no disadvantage to using them for channels. i like to set my own hook so i prefer them over circles for anchor or shore. drifting for blues or channels i would use circles but in reality a kahle would work with no issues for that as well just not an instant hook up like a circle

I used gamas for years with no complaints! I have heard that Gamas are good. Would the 8/0 from bd be big enough for big pieces of cut bait or live bait for flatheads? Or would I need to order bigger from somewhere else?

Do you run them with the line alarm? Never fished that way successfully for channels

The 8/0 would work just fine. They are just a slight bit bigger than the gamma hooks.

you can let kahles load, run them wit clicker, or just set yourself once you see the rod start bouncing. for channels that is

I use kahles and I have never had a problem catching channel cats on them, a few days ago I caught a little one under a pound on a kahle. I really like them for channels and flatheads. My brother caught his 33# flathead on a kahle last year. I also like to set the hook. Although I haven't had many fish on the 2 circle hooks we have setup I do think the work nicely, I just prefer setting the hook

I use team catfish and owner circle hooks. 5/0-10/0. Gamakatsu isn't bad. I have been disappointed by mustad circles many many times. Honestly never have used kahle hooks before but I've heard good things.
