Guy's i want to target local snapper's in the creek/small river by my place i have caught a few on rod and reel while cattin but never set a line for them some one help me get started please, i got 500lb test trot line cord for my line ,some 8/0 circle hook's and some 1 oz egg's to hold bottom i want to use the circle's in case i snag a cat instead of a turtle i want to be able to let it go in good health .
My ? is i guess is this set up gonna work on snapper's ? what bait should i use for them? Do you suspend the bait or bottom rig it ? any other info you think might help please fill me in i have tryed turtle a few times and did not care for it but i have a few friends who love it and want a few for the pot so i said i would set some lines and check them every day after work thank you for the help.......Sniper

Rollos the turtle man! Lol, I know he uses deer meat for bait but I believe he only jugs for them in farm ponds.

I’m not too sure about circles working for turtles, I don’t think it’ll work. You want the bait suspended up off of the bottom. I’ve used different things for bait, but always in ponds with easy access to bluegills and frogs. I hear beef liver works good.
