I myself have only got out once the past month and managed to go to seneca for some channel cat to bring to the dinner table. Haven't caught many flats this year; how's everyone else doing or did ya hang it up for the season?

It's been a terrible year for alot of us man. I have had my worst year in many. I have had to work the last 5 weekends in a row and haven't been able to get out. I'm gonna make a trip out soon but Im also spending time in the woods bowhunting. I wanted to get a November real bad but I don't know if it's gonna happen!

Were catching a lot of small stuff in deep holes on the ohio river. Were actually hoping for blues but we have been catching channels, drum, hybrid stripers, and a few small flaties. Bassmassey suggested that the flatties might be moving into their wintering holes. I would have to agree. Might be worth your time to find a deep hole near a tributary or under a bridge and toss out some baits during the early morning.

probably worst year i can remember and we fished as hard as ever. they just werent where they typically were for us this year. flatheads that is, we did really well with channels this year actually. i feel that lack of flatheds in the typical areas let the channels rule the roost.

and i think they are definitely moving towards wintering holes, the last 2 we have caught were in deep water during daylight
