I have using thermocell for 2 summers now while fishing and have yet to bit once. I recommend them all the time because it works so well, and i dont have to douse my self in smelly sticky stuff to get the same job done with this. Cartridges can be kinda pricey but well worth it to me because I hate getting bit up when I'm fishing. This one of those things you make sure you have before you leave the house to go fishing.

Do they keep nats away from the boat and do they die in the boat or just keep them away. Can I mount one center of boat or Do I need to mount one on each end for wind direction.

Great just my anchor light and Depth finder on dim attracts every insect in a one mile radius. In the waters I fish. An anchor light is a must with barges and these bass boats running 70 mph at night. I got ate up last year and I hate bug spray. I heard deet not good on mono fishing line also.

In the spring the gnats will tear you up bad. I may have to try one.

Good review Joe. I'm looking into getting one myself. I don't have much problem in the boat but I get ate up while bank fishing.

The only thing I have noticed with the nats if you get a breeze it doesnt matter what you have out they will blow right at you no matter what. Semi calm nights work best in the boat. The shore they work great to keep the mosquito's away!!!

I have had thermocells since they came out. My wife complains if there is one bug in the pontoon enclosure and bug sprays and mosquito coils irritate my lungs. I only have to run mine in the pontoon till the bugs are gone and then turn it off.
I will use mine if skeeters are really bad or if someone with me is complaining. If there is any wind I set it upwind of whoever the bugs bother and as close to them as possible.
I like the thermocells better than anything else I have found.

Great reviews guys! I have never tried the thermocell. Sounds like I will be purchasing one in the future though. Nothing worse than getting ate up when on the water. Thanks... rollo

Thanks. I'll try to use it sparingly then.

I've been using Thermocell for 4 years now, both in the boat ond on the bank. In the boat I put one front and back. I recomend them to everyone. They last for about 8 hours. I usually turn mine off about 2 hours after it gets dark in the boat. Bank fishing it helps to start it about 15 minutes before heading into the brush and woods.

Great product!
I use it spring bear hunting, fishing in the summer and early season whitetails.
I recommend flipping the pads over until you can notice that they do not work anymore for the bugs. Butnae cartridges can be found elsewhere if you look.
