I've always done good on the lakes in the rain and always kinda suspected what Robbie said but to be honest I never really noticed a huge difference in the river unless it was enough rain to cause a rapid raise in water level... but have a whole lot less experience on rivers than lakes so could be coincidence...

Yeah that's pretty strange...this year SF flatheads been acting pretty weird to me IMO...I know of three flatheads caught the same weekend as the one I caught...all were during the daylight and then no one caught em after nightfall....i know its still only mid may but that seemed pretty strange to me...but who knows maybe it was just coincidence?

I would find yourself some good bait...right where you are at is filled with green sunfish blue gills and shad. I saw lots of carp jumping so if you could find some smaller one that would be sweet...maybe throw some liver and crawlers today looking for bullheads too...and make sure you got an aerator and keep water cool so your bait stays lively. If ya need anything salt fork outdoors is always a neat stop to pass some time too....give me a call or text if have any questions man...hope ya have some good luck and have a good time this weekend!

I always heard bugspray gasoline and sunblock were all a bad deal on your hands during cat fishing but as Jordan said I'm Leary of any scent and as kip said they don't come along everyday so I ain't risking it! I get ate alive every trip due to my bugspray superstition but never experimented one way or another...always figured it was better safe than sorry when it comes to tracking down that one fish of a lifetime!

That 23 lb flat i caught last weekend was the only time I had caught a flathead that wasn't 100% docile once he left the water...he was as ornery getting pics as he was on the hook! Trying to flop and roll kind of like a channel cat...seemed pretty atypical to me...anyone else seen a flat act this way?
