Isn't uville quite a ways up the stillwater tho? I'm not sure but I thought Its dumped into the tusk quite a ways down...I also believe smaller tributaries r over looked....I always thought if theirs plenty of food for em there why wouldn't they follow?

Yeah don't necessarily think theirs a Bigfoot or grassman but geesh never hear as scary of stuff as ya do at three a.m. all alone a mile from your car in the middle of no where....but thank God it always seems to be raccoons like Sean said...haha one night me and fishstick were out on saltfork and coyotes came RIGHT up on us howling and yipping ....boy did he wanna leave right then!!! Lol

Katfish I absolutely love the pic! I've never had much luck using channels but don't rule them out....ducky I am graced with a small river full of channels bullheads suckers and carp about a mile from my house... all the bait I could ever need...only issue is the bullheads r monstrous like two lbs kinda big...but believe it or not I saw will catch a nineteen lber on one of them big bullheads in a lake one night...

This early in the year do you think channelcats are feeding primarily during day? I was kind of thinking shallow bays warmed by the sun but never do good early in the year so I dunno lol

April is when I start targeting Flatheads and yes I use that size of shad. The bigboys aint bashful in the cool water! I'm impressed lol...I figured cutbait that size was way too big for better than a month....but kip, there's a reason they call u "big cat" lol

I use the 9 to 14 inch shad. I filet one side and hook it through the nose! Lol don't think you use that big of bait early in the season Kip...I'm assuming Will meant what size shad you would use this time of year....I could be wrong on that assumption...I myself would use smaller shad like u said will but never do real well this time of year so my opinion probably isn't really relevant

I am gonna try using more circle hooks this year and was curious. I know with a j style hook you lose some Control with a longer leader... does leader length matter at all while using a circle hook? I don't think it'd matter either way but figured someone would know for sure...thanks!

Thanks pat! Never thought about the biological filtration...ill defidently have to give that a try...I've got big Rubbermaid like watering troughs...maybe 150gal? And they hold a mess of bait....but changing the water every three or four days because u have 20lbs of suckers in there is rough lol appreciate it man!

zebco 33 works for me. with 40lb big game line. Laugh all u want Randy I've seen it done unfortunately...we met a Guy off another site a few years ago and fished clendening with him once and he had exactly the setup u just described lol must've only been thirty foot of line lol....said he has better setups but the 33's couldn't be beat lol

Great ideas...I have very similar things with my tank...only issue I have is keeping it clean...any filtration ideas that rnt rediculously expensive?
