Well I can tell ya this much there is Blue Cats in the river below Dillon Lake. Don't know how many made it through the dam and how many stayed in the lake though. Got this little one tonight in the spillway. Didn't weigh it but would say it was right around 10 ounces or so. Looks like it will be a few years yet before they get to be fun. Sent in the information and will let yall know what the award is if I get it.

Never tried chumming myself. But I have fished where they were loading grain barges on the bigger rivers. Caught alot of channels off of them. Also caught some decent blues off of them too. I think the blues were there feeding on the abundance of shad.

Who in their right mind would jump out of a perfectly good airplane? That is a question I have asked myself several times. Well come to find out the answer to the question is ME! ;D A few weeks ago I was invited to go sky diving. I jumped all over the opportunity to go. I am very glad I did too. It was a total blast. Nothing like bailing out of a plane at 10,000 feet and free falling at speeds approaching 140 mph. Then enjoying the sites while gliding back down to earth underneath a canopy. Throw in a few flips and spirals and it all adds up to one heck of an adrenaline rush.

Sounds like fun Kip. I would be up for it as long as it isn't the weekend of the 11th. I have a tourney that weekend. I agree Dillon is a good central location with easy access to the lake or river. But I have no preference to location. You have it and I will be there.

Great looking setup you came up with. If I were a fish I would be proud to call that home. ;D

Sure does look like a bowfin to me. The snakehead has a slope on its head where the bowfin is more rounded. Kinda hard to tell in the pic but the fin looks pretty round to me. Bowfin around here can look quite a bit different depending on the time of year. There is a federal ban against possessing or selling snakeheads that has been in place since 2002. So I would rule out it being an aquarium pet being turned loose in the river. If there had been some released prior to that I'm sure there would be reports of them before now. Them dang things will eat everything and someone would have hooked one.

Caught a few dozen out of the spillway two weeks ago when it was down for a couple days. Hasn't been down enough to go back and get any more yet since then. I haven't tried the pond yet but would imagine there might be some there ducking out of the current.
