Sounds good Jordan I appreciate it. I got a chance to take it out and fish this weekend at Buckeye lake. Channels weren't hittin too good yet but I did get one while I was figuring out how to drift and the rod holder held up fine.

Yea Kip my buddies work construction and got the pipe and all thread for free! I plan to slowly upgrade to driftmasters, but I mainly only tight line for channels so I think these will hold up fine.

You can get goldfish at most bait stores that sell minnows. The size depends on what you are targeting. They are waaay cheaper in bait shops than pet stores and will cost anywhere from 50cents to $5-6 a piece. I'll buy their biggest ones (being around 7-10inches normally) when I am planning a trip to the Muskingum or another place that holds big flatheads. They stay alive great! I've never really targeted channels with goldfish but I've caught some nice channels on goldfish while fishing for flatheads.

Here's some of the improvements I've made to the Mud Minnow. Only thing left to do is mount the motor and put the decals on. This is a rod holder I made out of PVC pipe. I saw some made like this online but I opened the side up on it for easy access. Also cut some tubing and glued it on so the PVC doesn't dig into the cork handles. I used half inch all thread with 4 nuts and washers to attach the holders to the boat. I can adjust the height by threading the bottom nuts up further on the bar. I've tested them with a rod and they seem to be pretty strong. The only flex is in the fiberglass on the boat itself. Also ran toggle switches for the lights and ran the wires through some conduit up to the front underneath the edge of the boat and to a set of alligator clamps where our battery sits. This is what it's lookin like now. The fish finder mount is on the back bench for when I fish on it alone and can see it while driving. Couldn't keep the dog off the boat during the process. Don't know why my buddy looks like he is trying to hand her a beer in the second pic lol.

I feel the same way rollo. I'm the one with the boat out of my fishin buddys and being the capt. and the one who is sinking the $$$ into getting things fixed can suck. I'de like to just be able to kick back on the boat and catch fish with no worries.

I'm thinking that it will be a good year once the weather warms up and that the prespawn will be good fishing. Hopefully when it starts to warm up the water levels are cooperating. Might be a small window if the temps jump up real fast.

Been out looking for sheds twice so far this year with no luck yet. I saw a buck by the house the other night with 1 side still on. It's still a little early but I'm sure there's a few laying around out there.
