Glad to have you on here. There's plenty of ideas on the Do it yourself catfishing gear page. There a lot of ingenious people on this sight. You can find a bait tank that someone made out of a running deep freezer.

You guys, that are using floates how are using them. We have tried 2 different ways. #1 we just add a slip float to a carolina rig (above it), set the depth a foot to a foot and a half and through it out. Never had any luck doing this at all. #2 main line to triple swivel, straight down on bottom 10 to 15 # test with bank sinker 10" to 15" long off of the side swivel Circle hook half the distance of the sinker, with a bobber above it all at about2 feet. Caught one fish this way. Are there any other ways to fish floats with better results. Any methods will be appreaited thanks

Thanks for this artical. We only fish lakes right now, and this is right on. I just found a topo map for the lake we're fishing. I checked out the places we have caught fish and guess what. The creek channel ran right close to those places. It also helped us pinpoint some new places. hopefully we're going to fish one of those tonight.

I need to get one of these. They say your not supposed to hold big fish vertical to wiegh them, it can rip a big fishes guts and kill it.
