I dont live up north but i do fish all year long for panfish. I stay pretty warm most of the time. Some things i have picked up along the way are that...... Your lose most of your heat from your head so get a good hat. From there get thermal underwear they are thin so you can layer even more. They will help keep in a lot of heat. Insulated boots are a huge benefit as well. If my feet get cold the trips going to be cut short. Those are my three tips.
Good hat, thermal underwear, and insulated boots.

Lmao. The only thing they listed in Ohio was Lake Erie. Good, they can keep it that way. Its hard to beat that southern water though. Sent from my SCH-I545 using proboards

That does look pretty cool. I may have to try that soon. Rod holders are starting to eat into my cork handles.

I wouldnt pay more than 50 for a used 6500 personally...id definatley consider 50 bucks though. I know very little about the penns..... You can get 6500s new from bottom dwellers for 80 or so. Id offer 175 and go from there.

Got 3 flatties total. Biggest was 10lbs, then an 7, and a 6. I lost one fish to a snag, another to my hook hooking back into my bait, and one to a break off. The one that broke me off felt like a big channel cat, he got me out in the current and kept rolling and rolling..... until my leaver gave. Would have been nice to atleast seen that one.
The night could have been much better with those fish. Oh well....atleast we have tomorrow night.

Lively bait is a key component to catching flathead. I hope all the rest line up for a good trip. This cold front has me worried. Either way ill be on the water. Sent from my SCH-I545 using proboards
