Id appreciate insight on baits for each structure too. ive always targeted channels. this year is a first for flatties. so the more info the better. but when i have accidentally caught a shovel it has always been in a rock pile. and a friend of mine who catches alot of em while trolling can usually call when a flathead is about to strike using his finder and watching structure. its usually around Rock ledges or gravel spots

as i may dream of 100+ fish, reality has its mind set on smaller ones. I dont really need something that heavy duty.

Was fishin a small river not gettin any bites on shad. But my buddy caught a bluegill out the shrubs so I threw it on back into the same place I had the shad and caught a five pounder within two minutes. So I like using whatever the fish tell me they want to eat.

i grew up using creek chubs caught on r/r from local creeks. worked great. recently i only been using shad. tried chicken liver for a while. but hardly got any bites. and when i did they where tiny. Skipjack arent too common up here.
