Water is still high..... all the locks are open in Lockport. Will see if I can get a pic today for you. I've got an hour to kill so I am stocking up on goldeye.

CPR..... I might keep one or two a year to smoke. Let me know when you come in. Perhaps we can have a coffee or a beer together. Also let me know if you need anything in advance, if I can help you out I will.

17 lbs seems fine for mainline. Fishing channel cats in a river with solid current... even slack water. 30# is good for leads like was recommended above by others.

I never heard of a sinker slide until I came on here.... honest. I can see the benefit of using a sinker slide but can't see playing too much with what ain't broke. If it was legal to use a second rod I would play with a different set up.

Pretty cool. I am always looking to light up the night when I am fishing for cats. I never liked stumbling around or missing hits because of the lack of light

So, just what it says. What do you prefer and why?
Many of you know that I can really only fish for channel cats. I fish the northern tip of the channel catfish range, on the red river. I don't own a boat yet so all of my fishing is done from shore. Fishing cross current can be tough if using the wrong sinker.
It is for that reason that I prefer the no roll style. Apparently style of catfish rig also comes into play. I prefer slip rigs.
What about everyone else? Care to share any pics

Well I got my package from Bottom Dwellers. It contained one 1/4lb spool of cajun red 17lb, 30lbs Cajun and also Hi-Seas 20lbs clear.
The Hi-seas clear in 20lbs and the 17lbs Cajun Red were bought for my mainline and the 30lbs Cajun Red was for leader material. I have tied 50 or so rigs and am very happy with the knotting strength of the Cajun line, its also very soft..... although it has some memory, it is not the worst I have seen.
Supplier, I must say I have bought a lot of 1/4pound spools in my day. None have been as fresh as the line I just recieved from Bottom Dwellers. Thanks Dave, I know where I am going to buy all of my line from now on.

Glad this post was brought back.
I found out about bottom dwellers on here. Looked through the page and made my first order late last week. The order was shipped promptly. I have my goods already. I will be placing another order this weekend and perhaps a few more during the summer. Great product line and customer service second to none.
