I think that is about right, as for the ugly sticks, if you look at 10 of them they will all be different, not running them down just saying, the tips with the tip top off the size will vary 2 sizes on what top it takes. That don't make them a bad product, you just can't tell what action a hundred of them are so they just slap a sticker on em. The Cat Maxx rods even tho a very cheap made blank is going to be the closest to what the ratings are, also one of the better comercial made rods, the guides are pretty much in the right place and they use decent parts to make them.

Lure weight has nothing to do with the sensitivity, it is only the suggest amount of weight the manufacture suggest to use with a blank. Tip action is determined from XXFast to Slow, Rod power is from XXlite to XXXheavy depending on the manufacture and what material it is made from. Most Cat rods are from lite to X heavy power and the action is normally from fast to slow depending on personal preference. The lighter the action the more sensitive the rod with glass and eglass rods, not always true with graphite, s-glass and other materials.

Don't forgrt to try those barges tied up to the shore either....in warmer weather on the Ohio we have found them enjoying the shade..... The longer those barges have sit there the better the chance of getting a big fish from under it. If it has only been there a day or two, they might not have found it yet. This is also a good place to find shad and mooneye.

Anchor when the water is cold, below 50 degrees, drift if water temp. is over 50. Alway look for current and structure, even if you don't mark fish they are usually close by.

I'm not sure how you will like them for flathead fishing, they will cast a lot futher then shorter rods and a lot of guys use 10' to 14' for bank fishing. I build a lot of 10' rods for guys that drift, they use them as "dead sticks" they go straight off the side of the boat and makes the spread a lot wider. I use 2 all the time, personaly I like shorter rods than that but it works!

These are great hooks, I'm not really a circle guy but they work great and the wide gap and off set works really nice.
