I was almost ecstatic that after 1 throw I had that much shad LOL and big ones also. There wasnt much of a current I was able to use 2oz to hold. If you want shad I was at the very top of the dam throwing to the right side

Took the boys out to the Dam last night, got there about 8:30 and it was pretty much lined with people on both sides fishing . I was able to throw the net and catch enough shad which surprised me they were big shad also. Put my bait in a bucket and the pond area was pretty full so we just walked straight from pond parking lot to the river. Put a live shad on one and cut on the other and got some hits but no takers, there was heat lighting for the first couple of hours so they may have shut down at that point with the cold front approaching. It started to rain real hard about 11:00 so we left at that point. Had fun except my youngest who was freaked out by the June bugs LOL. The one sad thing was while at the dam there was someone that had a 15 - 20 lbr flatty just sitting up on the bank, I asked if he was going to eat it and he did say he was which if he was I would rather have them eat it then just leave it to die. After reading the news Im glad I didnt go up to ellis to fish with those boys that drowned at the camping there last night.

I know it says that it must be frozen but I think I read somewhere that you do not have to do that anymore. Granted its a pain to do it which is probably why its not done that much. What I dont understand is after reading the rules it does not state when it should be frozen i.e. if alive you weigh it and its whatever pounds after you freeze it would weigh more wouldnt it therefore invalidating the weight? Regardless great catch and great release. Here is the rules from ODNR site with the point of contact. Read These Rules: *All record fish are to be examined by an Ohio *Violation of any of these rules will lead to Division of Wildlife fisheries biologist to determine invalidation. correct species. *Fish submitted for state record certification *Fish taken from pay lakes are ineligible. must be taken in a sportsmanlike manner. JW I see your point to a point LOL, what if Beau used it to teach others not using a magazine but sitting with others would that be just as bad? I mean this in a way of teaching not to gain anything, and just by word of mouth either gets notoriety or whatever.
Realistically not giving credit where credit is due is wrong IMO and he should really state where he learned what he learned

As a shore fisherman my spots are few and far between so if I gave one up for someone else to fish and be successful with it I would be pissed to say the least LOL. Regardless Beau is a jackwagon and should be hurt and not in a good way or public way LOL
