PATS NEW BAIT TANK 2012

New bait tank this year.100 gallon galvanized stock tank from Tractor Supply-2ft X 2ft X 4ft.Biological pond filter from Home Depot with 500gph submersible pump.Filter uses washable reusable foam pads,it's my third tear with this filter,works great.Ran a furnco off the pump outlet,then 2ft of 1/2" pvc for the riser,T on top of that,10" piece of pvc off each side of that to extend it,then a 45 degree elbow on each end to go back into the tank.

That's a great setup Pat! How often do you change ur water? Also do you put a fish or two to get it started before you start stocking it? Thanks in advance.

I like to run it with just 4-5 fish for a week to get er goin.Water changes depend on heat and amount of fish i got in there.I'll change 5 gallon a day generally,if it's over 85* or I really got em crammed in there,i'lll change 10 gal or more a day.Last year I went the whole year without rinsing out the foam pads.It got a little cloudy near the end,but the water was good.It was just suspended sediment.
