I moved in to a townhouse this past fall. I have a 35 gallon bait tank...but I'm not allowed to set it up here. Too many snobs and yuppies. I already got slammed for charging my boat batteries in the laundry room, but found another small place out of sight for that.Got my boat and equipment setup in a storage unit but there is no power to run the pump and filter. Does anyone keep bait in a local river, lake or pond? What can be done with my need to keep live bait?

If you have a place that is safe from sticky fingers, a bait basket works for a while. Not as long as a good bait tank, but for a few days they do okay. If you were to make a larger bait cage, I'm sure they'd stay alive for more than a week, assuming you could get it more than a couple feet deep.

Splitshot01, Have you thought about a plastic 55gal barrel, drilled with 1/2 in holes and a door in the middle. It's alot of work drilling the holes but it should last forever no matter where you put it. Thats what i did for my bait bucket 5gal and bought a lid that fits a 5gal bucket from my bait shop. I'm getting ready to do the 55gal thing for the bait shop guy, because in ks now you have to catch your bait at the lake your fishing. but I struck a deal with my bait shop guy, he's going to keep bait in these barrels and (sale it to me). So i can have my bait ready when I need it.
