One of my best days I can remember fishing for channels was at Buckeye Lake about 5 years ago before I had a boat. We were bank fishing by the Firefighters campground and casting onto the ice and pulling our baits off and fishing right at the edge where it had thawed. Couldn't keep 2 poles in the water that day.

I'm sick of this weather! I'm ready for 50 degree water temps! I'm going to be the first Ohioan to put a shovelhead in the boat! in ohio Kip? we put two shovelheads in the boat down in tenn. this month. Neither were over 10# though. |

Good luck Kip. I know theres a few guys that catch some in the Great Miami River system, and in the Scioto River in mid March nearly every year. They fish deep holes, some of the deepest in the rivers, more or less wintering holes.

Me and Dad got a few new Abu's to add to our arsenal. Strung one up last night! I sure am pumped for this season!! Hopefully this year is better than last.

Definitely feeling the cabin fever! Can't wait too go play the old saying the difference between men and boys is the price of there toys so true. I'm assuming when you fellas refer to terminal tackle you are referring to sinkers hooks soon on and so forth. Rookie just wandering.

Terminal tackle to me is everything pretty much besides rods and reels. Anything, tackle wise you use from hooks to bobbers etc.  rollo |
