I catch them in the riffle section of creeks or smaller rivers using my castnet. You mostly will get the Northern Hog Nosed here, also big creek chubs. The Redhorses in my areas seem to be in a little deeper water, and are harder to get with the net but i still will get a few everytime i go.

I throw a cast net over gravel bottom for the hognose and I throw over sand or mud for other kinds of suckers

so then im curious are the redhorse caught in ponds and creeks then the place where i catch my suckers is a small pool at the end of a pond where it drains culvert style across the road they arent near that size so its hard for me to tell if the top pic is what im really catching or not

Suckers are the best lake bait. northern hog suckers are the best though.....
