I have had some people telling me this a blue cat, here in Iowa on the Des Moines river, this is pretty much un heard of. It is blue in color, but i have always just figured that the color changes depending on the location. I think it is a channel myself, but maybe some of you guys on here know better. Attachments:

I tend to be good at this game but not too sure about this pic. From what I see I would say channel but maybe some of the Blue fishermen can give you a better answer. Looks similar to a channel I caught the other day.

Looks like a male cat that has been or is getting ready to spawn. They tend to swell up and get dark during spawn.

Def a male channelcat. After you catch a blue there really easy to tell the difference.

I think it's a channel but you can tell very easily by the number of anal fins... Look it but but I think the blue don't have more than 28 and channels are 31 and up... By I may be switching them

Appears to be channel cat to me. Channel catfish has a curved anal fin (curves out) and has 24-29 Rays. Blue Cats have a straight anal fin with 30-36 Rays. Hope that helps! Please contact me with any further questions! Thanks!
