Securing braid a braid ready arbor

What's The Best Way To Tie Braid to These Arbors With The Spool Shaft Pin. Does It Just Keep The Spool On The Shaft Or Does it Keep The Braid From Spinning On The Spool. If So What's The Best Way To Tie The Braid To The Spool Using ThIs Pin. Will I Still Need Electrical Tape Not Using Mono Backing. Can you Tell ThIs Is My First Rodeo Using Braid.

I've always run a few wraps of mono and a modified uni-knot, but you said you'd like to stay away from backing.

I use a piece of scotch tape around spool then tie a double over hand knot. Never had a problem with the braid slipping.

I always use cloth medical tape. Works great for me.

I gues we kind of got away from your question but, if its braid ready it should work. Never had a braid ready arbor before so Only one way to find out.

It has a little pin that sticks up like a miniature mushroom. I wrapped the line around the spool twice made an X. Tied a double overhand knot and pulled it tight where the V part of the x was wedged against the pin. Then wrapped the business end of the line twice around the pin. Worked out really well. Spooled it up little ways set the drag full force pulled with drag set very high and the line secured very well. No slippage. Thanks guys for the info. This kind of stuff is good for the forum.

sorry yea second part of my resonse meant the arbor was to stop slipping on the spool. i just tie right too it. the tidewaters got em
