Unfortunately Not for me.
Took a buddy out on wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. On wednesday I tried a new area out. Didn't have any luck though. After spending that time to hear about his past trips and checking out his gear I told him to come back Friday and I would take for channels. My kind of Channels. The weekend before a different friend took him up to the lake for channels and the only one he caught was about 22 inches long and skinny. the guy he went with told him it weighed 22 pounds.
I couldn't help but laugh and told him about the guys at the spillway.
So come friday night I took him out and taught him my style of channel fishin. The first was a thirteen pounder. It blew his mind, the absolute biggest fish he's ever seen in person his whole life. And it was only 13.lol We finished out the night with a 9, 9.6, 13.5, and a 15.2.
All Were released live and healthy. But his biggest for the night a 9.6 which was a new Personal Best.
After Showing his proud fish around and hitting up the spillway saturday night. He said he understood why the weights that people were claiming were such a pain. He said there was a guy there with three smaller ones claiming they were all between 15 and 17. But anyways. He was thirsty for more. I took him back out Sunday. Turned out to be his lucky night. He was the only one that caught any. Of course I didn't really even pay attention to my poles. He ended up with another new PB. A very nice 14 pound even.
And The 15.2 that I caught on Friday makes number 19 for the year. For channels over 15. With the biggest this year being a 17.9. All but the last one caught while flathead fishing with live bait.
