2012 Catfish Freaks Gathering

Wanted to get this up well in advance to get ideas about a gathering for members. Last years was kinda a last minute deal and looking for this years to be great with a good turnout. Like to hear everyones ideas on this location, time of year, etc. Please everyone give me and rollo some ideas.

I like the late april early may time frame. Don't really care about location too much cause i'll have to drive a few hours anyway. I liked dillon lake because bait was easy to get after the cook out, so a similar lake would be great. next time bring a grill to the lake so I can put a few rods out while im shooting the breeze with fellow freaks. Lol

Seems like late may early June is the hottest time on the lakes around here. I was thinking maybe Saltfork Lake. Lots or room for camping and boats, also has a great population of giant flatheads and channel cats.

I'm gonna agree with kip salt fork offers something for everyone and even has great activities close for the family if anyone brings wife and kids...more importantly is the flathead population which is absolutely terrible at Dillon but great at saltfork ..and time frame also sounds good to find some prespawn flatheads too!

That would be a cruise for me. But I have a Desert Storm Buddy that lives between Pitt and Philly in a town called New Berlin. We Catfished the Chattahoochee River together while stationed at Fort Benning Ga for a couple of years. I haven't got to see him in 15 years This would be a good chance for me and him to hook up also. How many days would this event consist of? How much is a 3 day out of state fishing licence. Is their some good tributaries for some pre spawn channel cat action during the day and Flathead action at night. In a good general camping location. If me and my parntner meet up there may be a few cold ones being put back, so a campground that is cool with that would be cool also.

wherever is fine by me. the outings i have been to have been a blast regardless of where or when. so i am in either way

Chuck it would be fri to Sunday. There is plenty of room and campsites available at saltfork. Salt fork lake holds some big flats and channels, also the Muskingum river is but a half hour away and it holds good fish too.

Jingles not positive but I think the closest town is cadiz and I am pretty sure most people would have to take route 77 to get there...I know I do atleast

Salt Fork lays right around Cambridge Oh. in Guernsey County. Many ways to access it from different directions. Very nice lake for sure! rollo

We usually run a tournament on Saturday night. Usually pay big flat and big channel. Depending how many people show up and interested we could run a full tourney too. Just some ideas.

What kind of entry fee is there typically Kip? You having Jason run the tourney or doing your own? You planning a potluck and fish fry or what's the gameplan with the meal?

That's what I was thinking his Salt Fork Tourney is around that time. Be nice to be able to combine the tourney with the gathering.
