i had better luck at casino than my buddy.........my check card is locked up for some reason so couldn't draw any money. So I only lost the $15 I had in my pocket in a few hands of blackjack. I watched my buddy scooter loose over $200 and had a few free drinks and enjoyed the scenery...
that's the good ol' 3 pronged river anchor jordan........throw 3' length of heavy chain on that lil mushroom anchor will make a world of difference........

might have been a blessing in disguise that your card locked up then
I will give that a shot for sure with the chain. do you have it on the 3 prong also or just the little guy

I like to have a chain in all my anchors. It really helps them dig into soft bottoms. You might could get away without one on That heavy blue one...if you go to the hardware ya might as well get two lengths of chain though..

yea i will probably get 2. I use my anchors opposite. i usually go heavy out the front with the small one out the back to stop the sway. guess it makes sense that the heavier one would hold the sway down better. in a lake around here it wouldnt make much difference but in a river i might have to try it that way

I used to do alot of lake anchoring when I lived on oconee. what worked best for me was to throw out my front anchor and let plenty of line out to give you a real good angle on the line.......use the outboard to dig the anchor in good then toss out the back anchor w/ just a lil slack........then pull the front line to make the back line tight..........would keep the boat buttoned down pretty good in a lake like that.....i beleive the heavy anchor in back is better cause I don't like such a severe angle on my back anchor line to help keep fish from getting wrapped around the line...

that heavy anchor will hold better without letting a bunch of line out......a light anchor will drag around without a good angle.

i know all of us catfisher's figure alot of stuff out on our own through trial and error. but what about some of the lil tricks we've learned from fishin with others. I know one trick I learned from a mutual friend of a few of us on here ol skipper. I use it alot and it works alot of the time, works real good from the boat, and i've done it from the bank too. Gotta have current though. When you get a hang up let all of your line out and let the current pull your line back behind the snag........once the current has all your slack pulled out sweep your rod a few times and crank like heck. You will be suprised how often it will pull your rig out of a hang up. If that fails, I will go back when i pull anchor and try jiggin it out...........I hate loosing rigs, and these two methods almost eliminate breaking off all together.

i will try the anchor set up for sure i did learn quick that if you run them boath straight down you wind up twisting around as much as you do if you only had one anchor out
