I know there was a channel tourney there a few years ago, over 60lbs for 6 fish was 1st place and big fish was 18 lbs and that was only fish that guy weighed, don't know about flats but are some in there

probably not a whole lot of difference in the 2 reels, just wondering where you are pricing them from, I found them at $122 for the 6500cl big game and $137 for the rocket, I think the rocket has and extra bearing but I am not sure, my fishing partner has the cl and really likes it, I have the chrome rocket and its pretty sweet but that's another 50 lol

most people don't fish it because of the boat traffic, its bad even at night, as far as finding fish you almost need a boat, they had a channel tourney up there a few years ago, had big weights but no one wanted to fish it again because of the party boats, if you can get a boat and go during the week is your best bet, we went once on a cool rainy night, caught a bunch of channels all over 3lbs

i used some of the flush mounts on mine, drill a hole bout 2 inches mount them in at an angle, can run 3 or 4 on front and back, i got them at wally world only bout $3 each, they seem to work well, that or you could make some out of pvc pipe and mount them to the rails some how not sure on a toon

looks real good kip, i just bought a new boat sunday 18ft starcraft alum, got to do some work mounting rod holders and livewell, hopefully this week, ill get a pic on soon i hope lol, i still have to swap over my motor, the merc on it is locked up, im gonna check first though, if its a simple fix i may leave it on there

id call around and check on paint thinners that are safe for aluminum, i dont remember the kind we got, its been years ago, but brushed it on and bout 20 minutes it was peeling off really well, scraping will take forever
