Well Hello Garry. I have the same name here and there. If you come to breakfast Sunday, I would like to talk to you about trapping. In fact I might even want you to mentor me if you are willing. I have 10,000 public acres out my back door to fish hunt and trap. Good to see you old friend.

This year I am going to concentrate on daytime flatheading..... although I say that every year lol! My intent is to probe structure and deep holes with saltwater jigs and cut bait. I sit night after night knowing these fish will cruise the shoreline looking for an easy meal and I wonder..... where are these fish during the day? Why not hunt the fish? Any thoughts? Anyone ever try it?

Ducky, that was why I come to these sites. Everyones says night night night and I have to believe these fish are out during the day. Especially when they first wake up. Thanks.

I've seen some big Flatheads taken out of Dillon Spillway before. I usually castnet a few when throwing for bait (Saugeyes) nothing big though.

I have caught one before. Ugly creature, but I think a Flathead is beautiful too...... There is one guy I know of that I used to call Bowfin Boy before he went postal on me lol!

I fish WL to Coshocton a couple of times a year. I've seen (noodled) a couple of 30's so they are in there.

I love cut bait. I have had more luck using fresh bloody carp and sucker than anything else except perhaps bluegill or shad which is always with me. If I can kill a carp and use a slab of him, that's my go to bait!

Is there a difference between using bullheads and small channels? I have never had ANY luck using small channels. Never caught a bullhead when I was seriously catfishing.
