I am running 65lb power pro braid on two of my 6500 c3s and was curious everyones opinion on what test of mono leader I should run? I was talking to a guy today who recommended running 40lb mono leader so if ya snagged up you were guarenteed not to lose abunch of braid but seems like it defeats the purpose to run higher Lb test main line if the leader is going to be smaller...what is everyones thoughts on this? Do you guys even run a mono leader? Thanks or any input....

i would go with 50 so as not to loose braid and keep strength up. the benefit is still how much more you can get on the spool. I would always run a mono leader unless you have super long hooksets, just to cushion a bit on the set and so where most abrasion occurs its on the mono

I use 40# on 100# braid. Anything more is very hard on your gear. For channels I use 20# and 65# braid. Thats just what I use.
