Thinking about hitting tappan Sunday night if weather and my schedule permit...I'm curious what stuff I should be looking for...i typically look for shallow mud flats warmed by the sun during the day but for a night trip I'm kinda lost....was hoping to get a pointer or two to keep me from moving six times trying to find em from the bank...Lol....thanks guys in advance I appreciate it...

First off let me say good luck. That being said; I would try the shallow wind blown side of the lake.
Jason454ci and I fished a tourney at Seneca a couple years ago and placed 3rd from the bank. Our faces were so wind burned that night that at the weigh-in, we looked like we had been out in the sun all day instead of out all night...

Keep track of the wind direction as bobbylee mentioned. I was on the boat all week this week and I watched the surface temp. change from 44 degrees one morning to 54 degrees by the evening. All because the wind was blowing the surface water up a small creek arm. I went in a little and marked tons of fish schooled up in the warm water. Find a place like this and you will surely find a few fish. This weeks supposed to be very warm, so I imagine lakes will warm up nearly 5 degrees. Should be a good weekend to catch some channels for sure. If you can find some good cut bait this week, I drifted night crawlers this week for channels and ended up with nothing to show for it.....they probably want some cut shad, but creek chubs should do the trick also. Good luck.
