What size live-well do you guys run in catfish tourneys? My friend is looking at getting a boat and may consider getting into a few local tournaments if he has enough live-well room. He's currently looking at a g3 1756 gator tough jon that has a 36 gallon live-well. How many cats do you think that will accommodate? I was thinking 2, 8 pounders or 3, 6 pounders. We could then bring a 35-50 gallon cooler to hold the other cats. If its a tourney for 6 cats, we might be in a bit of a bind though. Just curious to see what you guys are running on your boats?
I have seen the converted feed stock tanks and truck tool box tanks, but I didn't know if we needed one that large for lake tourneys.

Sean its not the amount of water as much as the amount of oxygen it carries. We have had 6 channels in about thirty gallons in a 50 gallon tank. Micro bubbles carry more oxygen content in water than big bubbles. We have a diffuser that pushes tonsof micro bubbles on a 12 volt system. Airation helps with the dispersion off co2 build up, while the airstone supplies oxygen to the water. Heres a link giving more details. keepalive.net/guide.htm

we use a 100 gal stock tank, but we dont fill it up around 50 gal,it was the cheapest thing that would fit and was big enought for our fish, the big thing is match your live well for the biggest fish in that body of water
