I have used creek chub and have caught a lot of large flatheads. I am going to try bullhead this year and see if they do better for me

I like using isralei carp the most and big suckers when I can catch em. How do you guys get those big suckers? I have caught some in seine nets but never on hook n line. It seems like everytime I get a nice one I catch a good fish on it. I don't know where to get bait size bullhead either or I would use them. I catch them at Buckeye Lake a lot but they are always too big.

I use throw nets to catch a lot of suckers and chub in a nearby creek. I am in the same situation as you at the moment I am looking for a good spot to catch bait sized bullhead. I know there are creeks in the area and one pond where there are a bunch of bullhead so I am going to try them this year.

I like using 10/0 King Kahle hooks instead of what he is using.

I mainly use lively green sunfish, chubs, smallmouth, bullheads when livebait fishing for flatheads. Those are my favorite baits that I have caught most of my fish on. It's tough to choose one over another as a favorite though. I do prefer certain baits over others during certain seasons though. Spring and fall during cool water I like smaller slender baits such as chubs, suckers, small bass. Greenies, warmouth, or other big panfish during the warm water months anytime seem to work for me. Bullheads def. around the spawn into early fall work well where I fish. If I had to choose just one over another for catching numbers of fish chubs and suckers usually get the most action the places I fish... rollo

I looked the northern hogsucker and I know what they are now. They are great bait and stay alive longer than the chubs do.
