Let me make your trip sound a little better.
We fished a river yesterday and got on the water at 5pm. All was well at first. The fish werent biting and we anchored in a dozen different spots just to catch 2 channel cats under 2lbs. Fished for flatheads until 1am. On the way back we realized the water had dropped 1foot and a half. The riffle that we walked the boat up at 6pm was now a rock bar. We had to unload the boat just to get it over the rocks. 2 batteries, 2 anchors, a five gallon bucket of bait, tackle etc. After that was all out my giirlfriend and i drug the boat in five foot increments until we got the boat in deep enough water to walk the boat through.
Got to the boat ramp and i had amanda hook the boat to the winch, she stepped on the trailer fender and broke a weld on the fender. I then winched the boat up and the five gallon of bait tipped over, so we now have 30 pieces of bait in the bottom of the boat, half of which are bullheads. I quickly winch the boat up tight and as soon as i let go of the handle on the winch it backspins and gets my hand.
It was just one of those trips where everything went wrong.....last nght i swore i wasnt fishing for a week.....woke up today and made plansto fish tomorrow evening.
As Pip said bad trips make the good trip even better.

Glad you got out bro! Don't feel bad, last trip I made to the Ohio River we broke down, and spent the rest of the night getting pulled back to the ramp. Guess bad luck is bound to happen sooner or later for all of us! rollo
