When you guys use large floats do you use circle hooks.
Also, I noticed that alot of you are using mono line
instead of the triple braid. I'm kinda new at this and was
wondering what you think?

I run mono for the fact that I fish the river 90% of the time and have had many break offs due to rocks. I know alot of guys use braid at the lakes due to lack of stretch when the run lines way out to the channel. As for hook choices I use circles when running floats with the reels locked down.

I've have mono on all my setups currently too although I'm about to make a switch to fluorocarbon........it has most the characteristics of mono except no stretch, less memory, and better castability......it's a lil more high dollar but i've been seeing some decent deals on bulk spools on ebay.........anybody know where else to get good deals on bulk spools ??

im looking for a good deal on some 40#..........i've used p-line before and like it alot, and my buddy has that yozuri on most his reels and it's pretty good too.

I will let you know when I get some, there was some 1200 yd spools of yozuri 40# on ebay the other day but gone now....i havent looked real hard yet but gonna check some saltwater sites....probably wont be cheap, between $100-200 for a big spool.......but if you dont break off alot it last much longer then mono.....i probably wouldnt spend the money on it if I mostly bank fish......i can most always get my rig back on the boat

I use mono, and I fish lakes. I use circles, with the reels open. I've never had any problem with using circles with bobbers,if anything, it had helped my hook up rate as well as with tight lining.
