Catfishing around Grand Forks is pretty good and getting better. The smaller fish are feeding aggressively and the bigger fish are showing up more every day. Good numbers of catfish are being caught in most structures with snags near deeper water or faster water areas being the best. All baits are working according to reports. I have seen the best results with frozen sucker. The water temps are in the low to mid 80s which is making for a better night bite, water levels and flows are stable and we have been in a stable weather pattern. Fish fast and hit a lot of spots to stay on fish. In most cases if there are fish in the area you will have them within 5 minutes.
Drayton continues to be good but has slowed some over the past week or so. All baits are producing but sucker and goldeye are by far the favorite. Frogs are good if you can get them.
Personal Notes: The heat is slowing down the bite all they way around. I have been staying on fish and getting more in the mid-30 inches. If we could get a couple inches of rain or at least enough to bring the river up a couple feet all hell will break loose.
