Got out fishing last night. No problem getting small bluegills for bait. Got a channel cat early and this flathead about 1:30 in the morning. Fished alone so this is my picture Clouds made it pretty dark. The Cat Maxx rod and Shimano Charter Special handled this fish with no problem. As always this 38 was released.

There were no recent wounds on this fish. The caudal fin injury was healed but made ID fairly easy if we catch her again. I did take close up pictures of that fin that will make identification a no brainer. The problem is that we will probably never see her again. This year was backwards as far as male/female fish distribution. This winter we can review the file I built on distinguishing marks. I put weights and locations in the properties of the file to help remember facts.
