Well our freezers are pretty full from corn and green peppers this year, more so than ever....and this is limiting my freezer space for bait. I have been keeping small quantities of skipjack in my mini fridge in its freezer compartment. The other day i turned the temperature way down and it froze water bottles solid near the bottom of the fridge....and the cooler is on the top. I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to load it down with skipjack? My concern is that it may be slightly warmer than a normal freezer and may lead to poor bait quality. I only have skipjack and frozen bottles of water, for coolers and what not, so it doesnt get opened regularly. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I don't freeze bait but I don't think it would freeze them hard enough to preserve them. When freezing meats of any kind the colder the better.

I have one those small refrigerators out in the barn and turn it as cold as it goes it does fine for freezing bait. If you put to many in at once it takes a few days to freeze solid. I do big shad mostly and vacuum seal them.
