Does any one know anything about the 6600 c3 lever drag? I should have looked in to them before i got one.

great reel, i have 2 of them i use a lot, if you dont like it let me know and ill take it off your hands, i usually set the drag pretty tight for drift fishing or anytime using circles, can let it off a bit if using clicker but i dont, i want it at max for hooksets, its great if you get a big fish on nad have to let him have some line or stop him in his tracks if you have to, thats the reel i caught the one in my avatar pic on 20lb line

My buddy in sc has a penn gti320 lever drag and ive used it several times. I dont care for the lever drag at all, would much rather have a star drag. Dont get me wrong penn320 is an excellent reel with the star drag.

Sounds like kip did some homework on that reel. I know nothing about that specific model reel, my statement was toward lever drag in general. I like to have my drag set to a strength that I like and I dont wanna be foolin with drag while fightin a good fish, I will put the brakes on em with my thumb at times.....i like to focus on keeping constant contact with the fish at all times so they dont get off.

And this is a fishing forum and everybody likes to fish a lil different....the lever drag just doesnt suit my needs.

And watchout keeping drag locked down....i have seen line snapped in the rodholder twice now from great big fish....once on my rig and another time on a buddies during a tournament....nothing feels much worse than that!

The drag does seem klnda week, kip do u know what forum you found that on about the drag up grade?

Looks like you are reading the same forums I do Kip. Alan Tani's forum has some great info on just about any popular reel you can buy. I have tried one of these Lever Drag Abu's, and although I really like lever drag reels and Abu's, I passed on this one.
