How much you willing to spend? Theres a couple on craigslist in the cinci and dayton area.
I have a 2003 9.9 mercury short shaft that wont be getting much use this year. I have thought about selling it, but i dont NEED to sell it. In other words my price wont be as low as someone elses on craigslist who's getting evicted if they dont come up with cash soon. Lol.

I would like to spend no more than 800 and would like a 2 stroke since they're lighter. I have found some older ones around dayton and cincy like you said and the akron area for 850 but was waiting to see if anything closer would come up. About how much does your weigh? Reason being, I ended up getting an inflatable like a zodiac that can handle a 30hp but an older 9.9 I know I can upgrade to a 15 if it's an evinrude or johnson pretty easily. Attachments:

How rugged is the material on your inflatable? Looks cool!

kip, it's 1100 denier PVC. If you ever heard of sea eagle inflatable boats The material is slightly stronger than their's. The military uses zodiac boats which are also constructed of heavy duty PVC or hypalon but zodiac's are really expensive. It is rugged and can be run up on shore without worry unless there would be a lot of sticks sticking up. The bottom is also a double layer of material. To put things in perspective a 12ft. flatbottom jonboat takes anywhere from a 3-10 hp motor maybe with a capacity of 350-500lbs. This is 12 ft. long with a 1400lb capacity and can take a short shaft 30hp. I'm excited to see how this thing will do flathead fishing.

My motor weighs 87lbs. Its the same motor as the mercury 15hp, but it lacks a bigger carb. You can buy them from mercury for 200 bucks. I would ask $600 for it, and i'll drive an hour or so north to meet you. Like i said you could probably find a better deal on craigslist though.
I can send you pics if your interested. Only thing wrong with it is that when i bought it it didnt have a cover. So i had to make a fiberglass one for it. I put the whole process on our blog. If you wanna see it, go to esbfishing.com and search mercury 9.9 hood.
