I know water temp plays a role in when these fish come out of their holes in early spring/ spawn/ and all other seasonal patterns. Although I beleive what is even a bigger factor in the whole picture is length of daylight. They know when that sun stays up in the sky a lil bit longer and it's time to eat after a long inactive winter of eating very sparingly. I wish I was home to try to validate this theory, but I would have forsure been sittin at the same spots I fished in the middle of last october with some fresh bloody cutbaits waiten for a bite. Y'all seen ducky and amandas fish from early this month which helps to prove my point.

You are very right Aaron! Thats why we fish highwater conditions during early spring when some fishermen may consider it still too cold for flatheads. Alot of our early season flatheads come during the daytime period, and esp. in the afternoon! Alot of my better flatheads have came early in the year this way. My avatar fish was caught in these conditions.... Very good point made bro! rollo
