Has anybody used it? We can't get it up here in MB.
I am starting to market my catfish slip rigs in the stores around the catfishing hotspots along the red. At this time I am using big game 25lbs mono for leaders. I am using the name redcat on the rigs and think I would catch more fisherman with the red cajun line if ya know what I mean. I am not willing to sacrifice quality though.
Anyone ever use this line?

I found it to have way too much memory for me to keep it on a reel. But for leaders, it should be fine. I know one of the versions of the Cajun lines has incredible knot strength when using a polamer knot. I will have to check my research to remember which version it is.

Ok found it. Shakespeare Cajun Red Lightnin' monofilament. Palomar knots broke at 100 percent or more of the line's actual strength

Awesome thanks for the info. I'm still gonna try 17lbs for my mainline on a spare spool. That makes 4 1/4pound spool I have to order this year. Along with a mold for my weights.
Good to hear the cajun line will work for leaders

What type of knots do you tie on your leaders?

Uni-snell on the hook end and a rapala knot at the swivel end. Octopus or octo-circles

The best knot is always the one a person can tie the best. However, considering the Cajun's apparent liking of the polamer knot, and the ease and quickness of tying it, you might want to give it a try, and compare the results to your'eĀ current leaders. The Cajun line may prefer a knot that doesn't have many wraps, like the Ande I use. It's one of the 2 lines that had a better break strength than the Cajun using the polamer.

I am pleased with your review on the line tho. I have had to change knots with certain lines, some are just more particular than others. I also saw that the bottom dwellers have 1/4 spools of several lines. I could get it shipped to my door cheaper than buying locally.... looking at a no roll do it sinker mould as well. Hooks, I am sitting on 400 6/0 octopus hooks and have 200 octo-circles in 9/0 on the way

I agree with Skyline and Chuck.. Can't say its bad line. Very strong! But, I have used Big Game for years. Alittle stretch in my opinion is good for mono. Which Big Game has. Good for abrasion! Red was like wire for me after a month spooled on. Im using Big Game, and Hi- Seas this year. Waiting on that first big fish on Hi-Seas to see if I like it better than Big Game.. I can say one thing already, I think it's smoother and cast better pound for pound compared... rollo

Well I got my package from Bottom Dwellers. It contained one 1/4lb spool of cajun red 17lb, 30lbs Cajun and also Hi-Seas 20lbs clear.
The Hi-seas clear in 20lbs and the 17lbs Cajun Red were bought for my mainline and the 30lbs Cajun Red was for leader material. I have tied 50 or so rigs and am very happy with the knotting strength of the Cajun line, its also very soft..... although it has some memory, it is not the worst I have seen.
Supplier, I must say I have bought a lot of 1/4pound spools in my day. None have been as fresh as the line I just recieved from Bottom Dwellers. Thanks Dave, I know where I am going to buy all of my line from now on.

17 lbs seems fine for mainline. Fishing channel cats in a river with solid current... even slack water. 30# is good for leads like was recommended above by others.
