I was needing to know if they are still skipjacks at greenup dam? was there about 3 weeks ago was thinkign about heading up there tomorrow.So if anyone could let me know be much appreciated.

I saw your thread on fishing in Rome, Ohio. If your close to Rome I'd try the hotwater discharge in Aberdeen, Ohio. Its probably close to the same distance as greenup for you. There are always skipjack there, you'll just have to find them. Typically they are in the current just after the wing dams where the creek dumps into the river. Sometimes they can be caught in the stream, however that seems to be true during the colder months of the year. Also try fishing around the bend, out into the river. Sometimes they will hold there just a little deeper off of the ledge. Try letting your rig sink a few seconds before slowly reeling it in. Oh yeah, It never hurts to bring some catfish rods with you.......  |
