It's getting sickening the amount of litter you find fishing these days. Whether it be in the water or on the shore it's to much. Everytime I go fishing I try to pick some up and leave the place better than it was. I've been wanting to organize a small lake clean up for a long time and wanted to know if anyone else would be interested. Basically maybe spending a few hours whether it be at the lake or river and clean up some trash then could always fish afterwards. Who knows, maybe it would catch on and more people would get involved. With that being said, would anyone like to to lend a hand and help clean up our lakes. I'm thinking local lakes to start off with, but any ideas or options are appreciated.

That's a great idea! I know I always clean up after myself and usually a bag full of everyone else's!

Sounds like a good idea to me. You could run a tourney or competition of some sort after to attract more ppl.

They do that here. Corperate sponsors have jumped in to donate prizes.
Personally I bring a few extra bags to fill up with other peoples garbage everytime I go out. My kids have gotten in to it as well. I actually have a spot on private property because we clean the shore and the owner has watched us for years. Great place with slack current.
Hope it turns into something guys.

Glad to see some interest, maybe we could get something together one weekend and fish to. Any ideas are welcome. If enough members wanna get together we can think about picking a lake and a date to do it.

I have been out on a few kayak float trips where everyone took a trash bag and picked up some trash along the way.
I would not know where to start on my local stream that runs into the Scioto. Always several hundred bottles on the water. Worm and liver containers from the lake and creek. Then just lots of general trash. The lower end of the lake at the spillway is always covered in trash floating on the water and down it goes to my fishing hole. You know those places where you reel in weeds on a very cast, well that's how this place is with plastic bags.
