Hey Everyone Just wanted to tell everyone a little about myself. I am from Wv. and I fish primarily the Upper Potomac for Channel cats. I have caught the bug bad and have been expanding out a little to some areas that hold some bigger fish. I have been fishing a lake in Wv. for Flatheads and I'm working on my boat now so I can start fishing the Lower Potomac and maybe the James for Blues. This seems like a great site to learn from and I do plan on taking advantage of all the knowledge I can. I am firm believer in CPR and really want to try and see if I can work locally with the DNR to help promote Cat fishing by trying to get a few regulation changes at our local lake. I am going to try an have a few fishing rodeos for kids and try to get a slot limit for the Channel cats. This will help raise money to stock fish and provide the kids a couple days of fun. Thanks everyone and I look forward to talking and exchanges ideas on the site.

Welcome to the site.
I also am a supporter of tough regulations on fisheries. I eat fish, but don't like to fish for food like I was taught. I have seen what tough regulations do for a fishery, here in MB any channel cat over 24" must be released. The The channel cat fishery here is amazing. Best of luck

Regulations stipulate the use of only barbless hooks here as well. That took a bit of getting used to but I rarely lose fish now.
