After having a break off with in a minute of hook set last night, I got to checking my Rod and I have 3 bad eyelets. The rod is an 8ft 2 piece Ugly Stik catfish rod. I'm thinking of replacing it with the Pro cat 9ft 2 piece from Bottom dwellers. I can't complain about the Ugly Stik but I can't help but wonder if I could cast further with the 9 footer? I see both rods have the same MH action and a 15-30 lb line rating. Has anyone used the 9ft Pro cat rod? Like always any input or advice is greatly appreciated. I'm stuck using 2 piece rods on anything over 8ft due to my fishing vehicle being a Honda Element. The reel I will be putting on this rod is either a 5500 pro rocket or a Alphamar 12.

howmany guides and what is the spacing between the guides some other factors that might hinder any performance gains a foot longer rod might give.
