What floats do you guys use when fishing for cats? What are the advantages of specific types of floats over others? (Cigar v. Long Skinny type, etc.) Weighted or Unweighted?
I have gotten used to using Little Joe weighted Floats (10.5" Yellow and Black). I like using them because i know how much weight to add without it laying flat on the surface or sinking to the bottom. So there is no guessing game when I get out on the water. I also like this type of float because it allows me to tape a light stick to its tip easily.
What are your opinions?

I like the katbobbers. They hold up to a lot of weight and make casting from shore easier. They got a built in slot for the glowsticks too.

I like the homemade pool noodle catfloats. I also will use the catstalker brand. The catstalker comes in different sinker weights.

Kip I believe I have one of those catstalker floats. Its a green and yellow cigar style float. I think its rated for 3 ounces, its probably my most buoyant float.

Catstalker makes many different size floats. I like their floats, but have been making my own the last few years out of pool noodles. The only problem I had with the catstalker floats is the center tube for your line would seperate from the actual float after a couple trips. Maybe I bought a bad batch, but for a durable looking float, they didn't meet my expectations....rollo
