Hey guys, I'm getting ready to order some reels from Bottom Dwellers and need some advice. Should I go with the 200 or 300 size reels?? I'll be fishing mostly for Blues from a boat. I use the Okuma Avenger bait feeder reels for Channel cats and love them so I figure I will give them a try again. I am just starting out fishing for Blues so have no experience at all on how they will test my gear. They will be sitting on Cat Fight take down rods. Thanks for the help.

Personally id go with the 300 size for line capacity, esp if your going to be using monofilament line.

yeah the 300's for sure,dont fish with any lighter line then 40 either lost a pig last week

Well I bailed out on the Okuma classics, I talked with Dave from Bottom Dwellers and he said the classic is not the reel for big fish. I went with the Quantum CN30 that he suggested and I'm going to try running the Hi Seas mono in 40 lb. test. Now I just can't wait until the Take Downs Come back in stock!!LOL Dave is a great guy to talk with, very helpful .

Im very happy with the hi seas line. Been running it for two seasons with 0 problems.

That's good to hear and your not the only person I've heard good things from. Everything is starting to come together for my first trip on the Potomac in September. I should have my boat back very soon and the Take Down's should be back in stock this month. I can't believe how long this guy is taking with the boat!!

sept,oct,nov,and the first week or so in dec are my favorite time to fish the river,i'll be out pretty regular then
