Stumbled across a post on another site about them... Has anyone here actually seen one touched one? Or used one?

Thats a link by the way. They seem to be a pretty nice rod. i like that it's a two piece at the butt. And Stainless eyes are nice. the price isn't too bad either.

That's a lot lower than the MSRP on Okumas site. Not a bad looking rod. I wonder how stiff they are,

After working late last evening I finally got to open up the tube with my new Okuma rod in it. It was odd having a 2 piece rod that you slide the actual rod into the handle.. Very snug very tight fit, the 10 SS guides are double footed without inserts. The cork handle isnt as big around as a Cat Fight rod. The Handle is cork the foregrip rubberized cork and EVA is longer then on a TWC rod but shorter then a Catfight. THe action seems fast to me.. do not hold me to that. The rods stiffness falls somewhere between the Cat Fight and a TWC Extreme. I mounted an AlphaMar12 on it and the balance seems good. being an Eglass rod it has some weight to it but yet doesnt feel awkward. I ordered the 8ft model since I fish a lot from shore.. I guess the true test will come next spring but my intial feelings are I would buy another especially if BottomDwellers decides to stock them. For those with an Ohio State slat the guides have scarlet and gray accents to the guide wraps... now that I have said that "Roll Tide" there I feel better

Great evaluation. I might have to try one out, i want something with a faster tip than my catfights, the medium action on my catfish special from berkley is amazing but it has glass eyes that are wearing out. The new american spirit rods from BDtackle look tempting too.

YES I FISH WITH THE OKUMA BATTLE CAT, ITS THE BEST ROD IVE EVER HAD. ALL STAINLESS STEEL GUIDES AND MADE VERY WELL. I ALSO HAVE THE OKUMA AKENA AK400 BAITCAST REEL THAT WILL PUT ANY ABU ROUND REELS TO SHAME. I LOVE ABU TOO. BUT OKUMA BATTLE CAT ROD IS GREATNESS, IVE HUNG 48, 36, 56 BLUE ON IT AT SANTEE COOPER AND DONT PHASE IT. THEY ARE EXSPENSIVE BUT WELL WORTH THE MONEY. I PAID $115.00 EACH FOR THEM. BUT I LOVE THEM. IVE GOT PICS I CAN POST OF THEM.
