Here's a topic for ya!
Prop eating waters.
I have had my boat in many different waters through that years, but by far the Muskingum has eaten more than it's fair share. Of course it's the worst when the dry season hits. Even though I have spent more time on the Muskingum over any other water, the percentages don't lie.
This is fresh on my mind because , luckily, just yesterday I went picked up a new(to me) prop from a craigslist seller. They were asking $25, but I gave them $35 because the prop was in such good shape. I still saved myself about $100, so it was easily worth it. I had to drive to Buckeye Ocean to pick it up, but it wasn't a problem.
Is there another waterway, one that can handle full sized boats, that have eaten more props than the Muskingum?

Here's another.... I am getting close to starting the install of my new trolling motor. I will be adding a deck on my open bow and need to leave a access hatch to mount the battery in. I have been mulling over what type of hinge to use on the hatch door. Should I use a traditional piano hinge, a vinyl or rubber type of custom made hinge, or possibility just go with some velcro? Hope this adds to the site discussion.

Come up Wills Creek or the walhounding or say the Tusky? Better keep a few props on hand! This is Jet Territory! LOL!

Why do Flatheads hate me? I know that hate me because someone/something that loves me does not usually avoid me so much.
Is it just me?

The only things I go far for are the Ohio River and Lake Erie. They have to be something special to get me to go that far, especially if they plan on keeping part of my prop as a souvenir.

Yep, the Rock River in Northern Illinios, especially below Sterling, Ill.. There are places that the channel (as they call it) is only 1' deep, it is loaded with boulders and, big rocks. Has to be the prop and, lower unit eat'nest river I have ever been on.

One year at the Muskingum I knew I was destined to trash my prop. I usually fish the water above the Y , up to Ellis. I dock at Riverside Park. I was about half-way to Ellis when I spot a guy in the water. He was in the middle of the river.....walking....and the water was not to his waist. It took me about 30 mins to get through that stretch. I had to raise the motor where it barely made water contact, and weave back and forth to try and stay in the main channel. At times the depth finder was telling me that I was in less than 2ft of water. Would have been fine if I had a jon boat, but I don't.

I was supposedly in the middle. Luckily, while I have gone through several props, I have yet to damage my outdrive.

Your not fishing the right spots Brother! The Muskingum the last few years has loved me very dearly! ;D Ya know, I usually do OK on the Muskingum. Last year was GOD AWFUL for me. Even though I broke my boat for the season, I decided to make several trips and fish the bank in a few places. Before the boat went down I made a trip with a BOC member(Toby) and we did alright. You remember...that's when I met you at Dillon and you showed me how to properly net shad. The next weeks was when the boat broke, and that night the water was crazy high, with debris everywhere, so it didn't surprise that we didn't catch anything. After that though...I did not catch 1 Flat the rest of the year. I don't know how many times I went out, but it was quite a lot. Being on the bank I stuck with the Muskingum and the Scioto. Nada! So yeah, i'll buy into being something I said.
