I am wondering about reels. I live in West Virginia and fish for 40+ pound catfish from the bank or boat docks on the ohio river. It is time to get a new reel and I have done much research. It is now between two choices, the abu garcia 6500 c3 or the shimano tr200g. Which one is better for what I am doing? I don't need to cast far, just a moderate distance. Thank you in advance for any help

Thank you all for responding so fast, and helping me in making my decision. What do you think about a rod? My budget on a rod is about $70. It would be used for the same thing as the reel

Original Catfight Rod from bottom dwellers tackle. $58.95 plus shipping. It is an awesome rod. stainless eyes, 7'6" long. It is sensitive enough for channels but the strength and backbone to handle anything you will ever fight.
